Few things derail an MBBS-abroad admission faster than a missing or incorrectly prepared document. Visas get delayed, offer letters expire, and stress piles up — almost always over paperwork that could have been sorted in advance. This complete 2026 checklist walks you through every document you need and the order to prepare them.
1. Academic Documents
- Class 10 mark sheet and passing certificate
- Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate (with PCB and English)
- School transfer/leaving certificate (sometimes requested)
Keep both originals and multiple photocopies. Your Class 12 PCB marks must meet the 50% (general) / 40–45% (reserved) requirement.
2. NEET Scorecard
A valid, qualifying NEET scorecard is mandatory — it is the foundation of NMC recognition for your foreign degree. Without it, the rest of the file is meaningless for Indian licensing.
3. Passport
You need a valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity at the time of travel. If you do not have one, apply immediately — passport delays are the single most common reason students miss an intake. Keep older passports too, if any.
4. Photographs and Personal Documents
- Recent passport-size photographs on a white background (carry 10–15)
- Birth certificate
- Aadhaar/PAN (for domestic processes and forex)
5. Medical Documents
- Medical fitness certificate
- Negative HIV test report (required by most countries for the visa)
- Vaccination records, including COVID-19 where applicable
6. Financial Documents
A bank statement or proof of funds is required for the student visa, showing the family can support tuition and living costs. Your consultancy will tell you the exact format and amount each country expects.
7. Apostille and Translation
This is the step students underestimate most. Your Class 10 and 12 certificates usually need to be apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India, and then notarised-translated into the local language (Russian, Uzbek, Georgian, etc.) for some countries. Done wrong, this causes the longest delays. Zenvia Education manages apostille and translation end to end so nothing is rejected on a technicality.
8. The University Offer / Invitation Letter
Once your application is accepted, the university issues an official offer or invitation letter — the key document that unlocks the student visa. This is arranged by your consultancy after the application is submitted.
9. Student Visa File
The visa application bundles most of the above: passport, offer letter, attested academic documents, medical insurance, HIV certificate, photographs and proof of funds. Processing typically takes 10–25 working days depending on the country.

Final Tips
- Start the passport process first — everything else depends on it.
- Make a digital folder with scans of every document.
- Never hand original documents to unverified agents.
- Begin apostille early; it is the slowest step.
